What We’ve Been Up To
We recently updated our website! Click here to explore the new site.
In May we were published in Montpelier's Times Argus newspaper for our commentary "Creating a Resilient Vermont: An End to a Growth-Based Economy".
COVID-19 revealed the serious injustices that our current economic system permits. Earlier in May Board Member Margit Burgess gave a webinar to Transition Town Charlotte and Transition Town Jericho on the fundamentals of ecological economics and how Vermonters can create resiliency for the future.
Last January, BnbVT Board member Margit Burgess gave a presentation to Vermont's Lieutenant Governor David Zuckerman about the implications of continuous growth and the importance of steady state rhetoric.
Legislative News
Better(not bigger)Vermont is delighted that the Vermont General Assembly passed a bill (H.926) that will enhance the ability of Act 250 to protect Vermont's natural resources, especially forest blocks and connecting habitats.
The passage of H.926 through the General Assembly was not without drama and intrigue. Click here for a short synopsis of this bill's benefits and the drama it endured. Unfortunately, Governor Scott vetoed this important legislation.
